Pastor David and Shannon Simmons
As an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Pastor Simmons has been involved in ministering to the homeless and hurting of the Columbia area and places around the world. He has a heart for the lost and the poor of our community. Prior to coming to Elmwood Church of God he was an Associate Pastor at City of Hope Worship Center in West Columbia, SC. He is a founding board member of Christ Central Ministries in Columbia, SC. He and his wife Shannon met and were married at Elmwood Church of God. They have returned home to Pastor “for such a time as this”. Pastor Simmons has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lee University and a Master’s Degree from Appalachian State University. Shannon attended Lee University for two years and transferred to the University of South Carolina to finish her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. David and Shannon have a daughter, Hannah who is married to Seth and a son, Caleb. Both of whom are also graduates of Lee University.
