Have you ever felt like you missed your opportunity or failed to do what God called you to do? The story of Jonah reminds us that our failures do not have to be the end of our story. Our God is a God of second chances! In Jonah 3:1–4, we see God speak to Jonah again and give him another opportunity to obey His calling. Even after Jonah’s disobedience, God was not finished with him. This powerful message reminds us of God’s mercy, His patience, and His desire to use imperfect people to accomplish His perfect purposes. No matter where you have been or what mistakes you have made, God’s grace is greater than your failures. When He calls us again, our response should be to trust Him, obey His Word, and step forward in faith.

Minor Prophets with a Major Message – The Book of Obadiah | The Deceitfulness of Pride
In Obadiah 1:1–3, we are confronted with a sobering warning about the deceitfulness of pride. Pride has a way of distorting our perspective, deceiving our hearts, and convincing us that we are secure in our own strength. The people of Edom trusted in their position and perceived security, but they failed to recognize that no earthly strength can stand against the judgment of God.
This message challenges us to examine our own hearts and consider where pride may be influencing our thoughts, decisions, and relationship with the Lord. Are we placing our confidence in ourselves, our accomplishments, or our circumstances instead of trusting completely in God?
The message is clear: Pride may convince us that we are standing strong, even when we are spiritually vulnerable. May we humble ourselves before the Lord, trust in His Word, and recognize that all we have comes from Him.
In this powerful message, our pastor takes us into the book of Amos, reminding us that while Amos may be considered a “minor prophet,” his message carries major significance for the people of God today.
Through Amos 5:24, we are challenged to move beyond simply going through the motions of faith and to pursue a life marked by genuine justice, righteousness, and obedience to God.
